I recently bought a Shimano Solara medium fast i was wondering what kind of reel should i buy i like saltwater fishing from docks . Also wondering if a tarpon gets hooked should i even try to fight it? or should i cut the line to avoid breaking the Rod?
@PRinlineskater A decent reel for the money is a Salt striker reel, from Cabelas.
if you catch a tarpon, go ahead & try to land it, – just make sure your drag is set light enough to allow him to run, but yet not break your rod.
Thanks for writing in & good luck on the water!
so do you put the tagged end through the loop or the line thats still on the spool
@tavon56 Actually, the tag end does not go through the loop – it’s on the outside of the loop and when the loop goes around your spool & you tighten it – it actaully stops at the tag end.
Thansk for writing in & good fishing.

THe darkened line would have worked if it would have been in front of something Light, white paper or something., not your black shirt, lol
@halfbreed02 …thanks for your feedback…we plan on re-doing this sometime soon!
this video was very helpful.. it helped to make sure you don’t have the normal tangling in the lines while fishing and if you pay attention you won’t have the down time of fixing your reel
@smithmatthewjames1 Glad it was helpful and thanks for the comment.
